Yes. The Unseelie Gathering is an over 18s event. All attendees must be aged 18 or over to attend.
You can find information about the venue, including accessibility details, on our venue page here:
Please note: you must have already purchased a ticket for the event in order to apply for an Essential Companion Ticket, also known as a Carers Ticket, or a Digital Access Pass.
Northern Frights is proud to partner with Nimbus Disability, operators of the Access Card scheme, to streamline the process for Essential Companion Tickets and easy access eligibility for our events.
Essential Companion Tickets are only valid for conventions and festivals. They are not available for meals, balls, or separately ticketed evening events.
All applications for Essential Companion Tickets or easy access must be made at least 14 days before attending the event. For The Unseelie Gathering, the cut-off date is 14 July. Any emails sent after this date will not be responded to. Essential Companion Tickets are not available on the door.
If you already have a Nimbus Access Card, please email us with:
Your Nimbus card number
The full name on the card
Your ticket number for the event
Nimbus Disability will carry out a detailed assessment of your needs using the supporting documentation and statements you provide. They will then determine your eligibility for a free Essential Companion Ticket or easy access services.
Please note that having a disability does not automatically guarantee access to these services. Nimbus Disability reviews each application on an individual basis.
Your personal information will be handled safely and securely throughout the process.
Once completed, your registration will last for 3 years.
For help and support applying for an Access Card, please visit the Access Card website.
The Access Card is a universal way to communicate your access requirements with organisations and ticketing systems across the UK and beyond.
Access Cards cost £15 for 3 years and can be used at thousands of venues and events.
A Northern Frights Digital Access Pass is a free way to share your access requirements with us. You will go through the same application process, but instead of receiving a physical card, you will receive a confirmation email with your Digital Access Pass number.
This pass is valid for 3 years, and you can upgrade to a full Access Card at any time.
To apply for your Northern Frights Digital Access Pass, please complete the registration form and upload any supporting information about your access requirements.
This registration will be valid for 3 years.

Nimbus is a Social Enterprise that has received international recognition for operating the Access Card Scheme. Nimbus is run by, and for, disabled people.
The system offers greater privacy, as disabled people with access requirements will no longer need to carry supporting documents or explain circumstances to staff. You only need to supply information once to the Nimbus team, who can then issue you with an Access Card or a Digital Access Pass reference number, depending on which route you choose when signing up.
An Essential Companion Ticket is provided to assist with access to the event and does not grant participation in any additional activities, such as photo shoots, meet and greets, workshops, add-on experiences, or other separately ticketed activities.
If the companion wishes to take part in these activities themselves, a separate ticket must be purchased.
This pass grants access to the event solely to assist the full-paying attendee. Individuals using this pass are not permitted to participate independently in activities.
Essential Companion Tickets cannot be resold.
Tickets may be available on the door if the event has not sold out in advance. However, door tickets are not guaranteed.
We strongly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
All tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled.
This policy is standard among most event companies and helps us maintain financial stability and smooth event operations.
For added protection, our ticketing site may offer an insurance option, which you can choose to purchase when booking.
You can sell your ticket to someone else, but this is not a service we offer or manage.
Yes, costumes are welcome, but we have zero tolerance for violence, threats, intimidation, nudity, or offensive behaviour.
Costumes must cover more than standard swimwear, and illusions of nudity are not permitted.
Costumes deemed offensive by the casual observer are not allowed. Outfits should pass the “social media” test, meaning if widely viewed, they should not offend the general public.
Any simulated violence must be pre-approved by the event organisers.
Offensive behaviour, including non-consensual touching, aggression, inappropriate actions or comments, and excessive swearing, is prohibited and may result in removal from the event.
We recognise that our events sometimes include horror and dark fantasy themes. If your costume is likely to scare or disturb the general public, please consider covering up while in non-event areas.
